U9 2024

CLICK FOR U9 PROGRAM GUIDELINES

Good Afternoon,

My name is Guy Mohn and I am the VP of Baseball with the SMBA and I am writing today to provide information on the upcoming 9U Baseball season. Attached are the recommended program guidelines that describe how the program will be ran throughout the season. Myself and/or Clint Riggins (President of Baseball) will be at the first couple of practices/games to help get the teams organized and help run the sessions to familiarize the coaches and parents with the program structure.

There are 16 players this year, so we will be splitting into 2 teams of 8 players (Team Navy and Team Red). We will break into the teams and hand out jerseys at the first practice/game, which will be on Monday, May 1st. Kids are asked to wear their jerseys to each practice/game.

The kids will need to have their own helmet, glove, hat, protective cup and water bottle for each game (please mark their names on each piece). Kids can wear sweatpants, track pants or baseball pants. Shorts are not recommended as the shale is rough and if the slide/fall on it, they will get scraped up.

Regular practice/game times are Monday’s and Wednesday from 4pm to 6pm on Sports Park Diamond #4. As mentioned above the first practice/game will be Monday, May 1st.

Each team will need a head coach and assistant coach(s), so if you are willing to fill any of those roles, please reach out to myself or Clint Riggins (contact information listed below). Parent volunteers are also needed to help make this program run, this is NOT a drop off program, and I can’t stress enough that you do not have to have any baseball knowledge to be parent volunteer, just a helping attitude.

Please have a read through the attached program guidelines, so that you are familiar with how the program will be ran and will know what to expect when you show up to the diamond on Monday, May 1st.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call or email myself or Clint Riggins (contact information listed below).

Regards.
